  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda, sifted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon corn starch
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • white chocolate
  • candy eyeballs
  • white chocolate covered pretzels (for antlers)
  • red candy (for nose)
  • Optional: peppermint sprinkles

Method

12 steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and corn starch.
  3. Cream the butter with the brown sugar and white sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add vanilla to the eggs, then add eggs one at a time to the mixture.
  5. Combine the wet and dry ingredients to form the cookie batter.
  6. Chill the batter in the fridge for 15-20 minutes or freeze it to control spreading.
  7. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  8. Use a small ice cream scoop to form small round balls of dough, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake in the oven for 14-15 minutes.
  10. Let the cookies cool before decorating.
  11. Decorate with white chocolate in a diagonal pattern, peppermint sprinkles, candy eyeballs for eyes, white chocolate-covered pretzels for antlers, and a red candy for the nose.
  12. Let the decorations harden before serving.
