Cinnamon Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 175g Plain Flour (1 cup, 3 tablespoons)
• 1 teaspoon Baking powder
• 150g Sugar (¾ cup)
• 3 Eggs
• 150g Butter (⅔ cup)
• 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
• 75g Brown sugar (¼ cup, 2 tablespoons)
• 2 teaspoons Cinnamon powder
• 1 tablespoon Cocoa powder
• 55g Melted Butter (¼ cup)
• Flaked Almonds (optional)

Method

1. Mix well together plain flour, baking powder, sugar, eggs, butter, and vanilla extract.
2. Whisk the mixture for 30 seconds.
3. Give the mixture a mix and whisk again for another 30 seconds.
4. Set the batter aside.
5. In a separate bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon powder, cocoa powder, and melted butter.
6. Add ⅓ of the vanilla batter into the cinnamon batter and mix well.
7. Pour the vanilla batter into the baking pan first.
8. Place dollops of the cinnamon batter on top and create a little swirl.
9. Optional: Add flaked almonds on top.
10. Bake in a preheated oven at 175°C (350°F) for 35-40 minutes.
