Key ingredients
chicken drumsticks, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper.
Ingredients
- 6 chicken drumsticks
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
Method
- If the chicken drumsticks are wet, place them on a plate and pat them dry with paper towels. If they don't have too much excess moisture, there is no need to dry them first.
- Place the drumsticks in a mixing bowl and add the oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (optional). Toss until the chicken drumsticks are evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Once preheated, place the drumsticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket so they can cook and crisp evenly. If your air fryer is too small to accommodate this amount of drumsticks, cook them in two batches.
- Air fry the drumsticks at 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) for a total of 15-20 minutes, flipping after 10 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius). Since every air fryer is different (and the drumsticks might be slightly different sizes), your total cooking time may vary.
- Remove the cooked chicken drumsticks from the air fryer and let them rest for a minute. Serve with sides like rice, roasted potatoes, or French fries.
