Ingredients
- 800 g chicken wings
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp starch
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- ½ tbsp honey
- sesame seeds (optional)
Method
- Place a large plastic bag inside a large bowl.
- Add 800 g chicken wings to the bag.
- Sprinkle with ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp black pepper, ½ tsp paprika, ½ tsp salt, and 1 tsp baking powder.
- Add 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce and 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce to the bag.
- Seal the bag and massage to coat the wings with the spices.
- Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, beat 1 egg well.
- Pour the beaten egg over the marinated wings in the bag, seal, and mix to coat.
- Open the bag and add 1 tbsp starch and 2 tbsp all-purpose flour.
- Seal and toss again to evenly coat the wings.
- Transfer the coated wings to the air fryer basket.
- Place a metal rack above the wings and arrange the remaining wings on it.
- Slide the basket into the air fryer and cook at 180°C (350°F) for 15 minutes.
- Remove the basket, flip the wings, and reposition the rack.
- Cook for another 20 minutes at 180°C (350°F) until golden and crispy.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing 1 tbsp ketchup, 1 tbsp teriyaki sauce, 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce, and ½ tbsp honey in a large bowl.
- Toss the cooked wings in the glaze until well coated.
- Optional: sprinkle with sesame seeds.
