Ingredients
- 1 packet puff pastry
- 450 g sausage meat (or your favourite sausages, skinned)
- 1 caramelised onion
- 1 egg beaten to glaze
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
Method
- Heat your oven to 200°C/Fan 180°C/Gas 6.
- Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Roll out the pastry to a rectangle, 40 x 25cm, and trim the edges to neaten.
- Roll the sausage meat into a cylinder the same width as the pastry.
- Lay the sausage meat across the pastry rectangle, 5cm from one end.
- Top the sausage meat with the caramelised onion.
- Roll up to encase the sausage filling.
- Pinch the edges to seal and place seamside down on the tray.
- Cut into equal portions and place on the baking tray.
- Brush with beaten egg, make 3 slashes on top of each one and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until the pastry is golden and crisp and the sausage meat is cooked through.
- Leave to cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes before serving.
