  • 2 x Packs of Rowtrees Jelly - 1 Raspberry and 1 Strawberry
  • 1.5 Pints (28 oz) Boiling water
  • 1 Drained can of strawberries
  • 4 Trifle Sponges or 4 pieces of Madeira cake
  • 3 x Tablespoons Birds custard powder
  • 2 x Tablespoons White sugar
  • 1.5 Pints (28 oz) Whole Milk
  • 150 g White Chocolate Buttons
  • 1 Tablespoon Strawberry or Raspberry jam
  • 2 packets of Dream Topping
  • 300 ml Whole Milk
  • 300 ml Double Cream
  • A Tablespoon chocolate sprinkles
  • 5 Cocktail cherries
  • 5 White chocolate stars
  • A Tablespoon flaked almonds

Method

9 steps
  1. Prepare the jelly by cutting the jelly cubes into small pieces, adding boiling water, and stirring until dissolved. Use less water for the berry-flavored jelly to make it more set.
  2. Pour the jelly over strawberries and let it set in the refrigerator for about 3 hours.
  3. Cut the Madeira cake or trifle sponges into small pieces. Optionally, spread some jam on some of the cake pieces.
  4. Prepare the custard by mixing custard powder, sugar, and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a light boil and stir until thickened. Add white chocolate buttons if desired.
  5. Layer the cake pieces in a bowl, pour the warm custard over them, allowing it to soak and rise along the sides.
  6. Prepare the whipped topping (Dream Topping or heavy cream) as per instructions until thick and fluffy.
  7. Once the jelly is set, add a layer of custard on top of the jelly layer.
  8. Spread whipped topping over the custard layer.
  9. Decorate with chocolate sprinkles, cherries, white chocolate stars, and flaked almonds.
