Ingredients
- 1 1/2 to 2 pounds ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 medium white onion (diced)
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 (14.5 ounce can) corn kernels (drained)
- 1 (14.5 ounce can) green beans (drained)
- 32 ounces frozen tater tots
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Method
- Cook ground beef in a large saucepan over medium-high heat until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Add in onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add in 2 tablespoons butter and let fully melt before adding in flour. Stir until well mixed and let cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in the beef broth, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer. Add in corn and green beans. Stir occasionally until the sauce thickens.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9x13 pan.
- Spread meat and vegetable mixture into the bottom of the pan. Top with a layer of frozen tater tots. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake in a 350 degree oven, uncovered, until cheese is warm and bubbly, about 25 minutes.
