- 5 medium potatoes
- 3 medium onions, finely chopped
- 500g ground beef
- 3 sweet green peppers, chopped
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp canned tomatoes
- salt
- paprika
- oregano
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- Aleppo pepper
- black pepper
- 2 tbsp flour
- 50g butter
- 2 cups milk
- 150g shredded mozzarella or pizza cheese
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Cooking oil
Method
- Bake thinly sliced potatoes with oil, salt, and oregano at 180°C for 20 minutes.
- Sauté onions and ground beef with spices and vegetables until cooked and flavors meld.
- Prepare béchamel sauce with butter, flour, and milk until creamy.
- Layer meat mixture on potatoes, pour béchamel sauce, and top with cheese.
- Bake again at 180°C until cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Garnish and serve warm.
