- 1 sliced chicken breast
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp MSG
- 1/6 tsp bicarbonate of soda (Bicarb)
- 1/3 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp light soy sauce
- 1 tsp potato starch
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 7 chopped spring onions (halved)
- 1/2 finely chopped onion
- 35 g sliced ginger
- 1/3 tsp salt
- 1/3 tsp MSG
- 2 tsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- 3 tbsp vegetable oil
Method
- Combine chicken breast, salt, MSG, bicarbonate of soda, garlic powder, light soy sauce, and vegetable oil in a bowl, mix well, and refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- Heat a large pan over high heat and add the vegetable oil.
- Add the marinated chicken to the hot oil and brown the chicken.
- Add sliced ginger and onion to the pan and fry until the onion chars.
- Stir in the additional salt, MSG, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar. Cook until the liquid evaporates.
- Finally, add the spring onions and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
