Homemade Buttermilk Cake

A soft and moist homemade buttermilk cake that is delicious and easy to make.
Ingredients
- 240ml Milk
- 1 tablespoon Vinegar
- 300g Plain Flour
- 1 and ½ teaspoons Baking powder
- 150g Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 80ml Melted Butter
- 100g Brown sugar
- 1-2 teaspoons Cinnamon powder
- 90g Powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons Milk
Method

Mix 240ml of milk with 1 tablespoon of vinegar and set aside.

In a bowl, combine 300g of plain flour, 1 and ½ teaspoons of baking powder, and 150g of sugar.

Mix well.

Add 2 eggs to the mixture.

Add the milk mixture (homemade buttermilk) and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, then mix well.

Pour in 80ml of melted butter and mix well until the batter is ready.

In a separate bowl, mix 100g of brown sugar with 1-2 teaspoons of cinnamon powder and set aside.

Prepare a baking pan (20x20 cm or 8x8 inch) and pour ⅓ of the batter into it.

Sprinkle ½ of the brown sugar mixture over the batter.

Cover with another ⅓ of the batter.

Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar mixture on top.

Cover with the rest of the batter.

Bake in a preheated oven at 175c (350f) for about 30-40 minutes.

To make simple icing, mix 90g of powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of milk.

Spread the icing over the warm cake.
