12 ingredients- 240ml Milk
- 1 tablespoon Vinegar
- 300g Plain Flour
- 1 and ½ teaspoons Baking powder
- 150g Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 80ml Melted Butter
- 100g Brown sugar
- 1-2 teaspoons Cinnamon powder
- 90g Powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons Milk
Method
15 steps- Mix 240ml of milk with 1 tablespoon of vinegar and set aside.
- In a bowl, combine 300g of plain flour, 1 and ½ teaspoons of baking powder, and 150g of sugar.
- Mix well.
- Add 2 eggs to the mixture.
- Add the milk mixture (homemade buttermilk) and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, then mix well.
- Pour in 80ml of melted butter and mix well until the batter is ready.
- In a separate bowl, mix 100g of brown sugar with 1-2 teaspoons of cinnamon powder and set aside.
- Prepare a baking pan (20x20 cm or 8x8 inch) and pour ⅓ of the batter into it.
- Sprinkle ½ of the brown sugar mixture over the batter.
- Cover with another ⅓ of the batter.
- Sprinkle the remaining brown sugar mixture on top.
- Cover with the rest of the batter.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 175c (350f) for about 30-40 minutes.
- To make simple icing, mix 90g of powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons of milk.
- Spread the icing over the warm cake.

Helpful tips
- Let the milk and vinegar mixture stand briefly before adding it to the batter.
- Divide the batter into three portions so the cinnamon sugar is layered evenly.
- Check the cake near the lower end of the baking range.
- Spread the icing over the cake while it is still warm.

Storage
