Ingredients
- 7-8 medium sized yams (peeled & chopped)
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 3/4 cup white granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 2 cup water
Method
- Peel all the skin off the yams and chop them into small, even pieces.
- Line the slow cooker with a liner and add the chopped yams.
- Pour in 2 cups of water over the yams.
- Sprinkle ground nutmeg, ground cinnamon, granulated white sugar, and brown sugar over the yams.
- Add 1 tablespoon vanilla extract.
- Sprinkle 2 tablespoons cornstarch over the mixture.
- Stir everything well to combine.
- Add 4 tablespoons salted butter on top.
- Cover the slow cooker with the lid, set to low, and cook for 3 hours.
