Method
- Wash apples by pouring boiling water over them and rub dry with a clean tea towel.
- Push a stick into the stalk end of each apple.
- Place castor sugar into a saucepan and melt it slowly until it turns a light amber color.
- Transfer the melted sugar into a deep bowl suitable for dunking apples.
- Line a tray with greaseproof paper.
- Dip each apple into the caramel, tilt the bowl to coat, then lift and let excess drip off.
- Place the coated apples onto the prepared tray and allow to set.
- Melt milk and white chocolate over a pan of simmering water in a heatproof bowl, ensuring the bowl does not touch the water.
- Dip apples into melted chocolate or spoon chocolate over them.
- Decorate with toppings such as sprinkles, chopped hazelnuts, or ground Oreo biscuits.
- Place decorated apples in the fridge to set.
- Optional: Use a piping bag to drizzle additional melted chocolate over the apples for decoration.
