  • 1 head cabbage
  • Olive oil, as needed
  • Cajun seasoning, to taste
  • Old Bay seasoning, to taste
  • Kinder’s caramelized onion butter seasoning, to taste
  • Butter, quantity not specified

  • Paprika, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons water

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F or 200°C.
  2. Wash the cabbage, remove damaged outer leaves and pat it dry.
  3. Slice a cap from the top and carefully remove the hard core without cutting through the base.
  4. Rub the cabbage all over with olive oil.
  5. Season with Cajun seasoning, Old Bay, caramelized onion butter seasoning and paprika.
  6. Work butter, garlic and herbs into the hollow centre and between some of the leaves.
  7. Add 3 tablespoons water around the cabbage for steam.
  8. Wrap or cover the cabbage very tightly with two layers of foil.
  9. Bake for about 2 hours, until very tender.
  10. Open the foil carefully because hot steam will escape.
  11. Pour seafood-style sauce over the cabbage before serving.
