Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

- 50ml (1/5 cup) warm milk

- 16g (2 tsp) vanilla sugar
- 50g (1/4 cup) sugar
- 25g (2.5 tbsp) cornstarch
- 250ml (1 cup) milk
- 100ml (2/5 cup) milk
- 2 tsp sugar
- 150g chocolate
- 150g (3/4 cup) heavy cream (30% fat)
- 150g (2/3 cup) softened butter
- blackberries (optional)
- powdered sugar

Line a 32x37cm baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a bowl, whisk together 5 eggs and a pinch of salt.

Gradually add 120g sugar and 160g flour, then mix in 50ml warm milk.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (356°F) and bake the mixture for about 15 minutes.

In another pan, mix 1 egg, 16g vanilla sugar, 50g sugar, 25g cornstarch, and 250ml milk.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

Cover with plastic wrap and let cool.

Cut the cooled cookie into 4 strips (about 7 cm each).

In a separate bowl, heat 150g chocolate with 150g heavy cream until melted.

Set aside about 1/3 of the melted chocolate.

Mix softened butter with the remaining melted chocolate.

Refrigerate for 2 hours.

Spread the remaining chocolate around the edges of the cooled cake.
