  • 12 oz of Fresh Cranberries
  • 1/2 cup of Water
  • The Peel of 1/2 of an Orange
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 cup of Sugar

Method

7 steps
  1. Add 12 oz of fresh cranberries, 1/2 cup of water, the peel of 1/2 of an orange, and 1 cinnamon stick to a pot and cook over medium heat until cranberries start popping, then reduce to medium-low and cook for 7 to 8 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat and take out the cinnamon stick and orange peel.
  3. Pass the cooked cranberries through a food processor until coarsely chopped, then transfer to a bowl.
  4. Add 1 cup of sugar to the cranberry mixture and cook on medium-low for 8 to 10 minutes until the mixture becomes saucy and thickened.
  5. Pass the mixture through a fine sieve or lined with coffee filters to strain out pulp, pressing with a spoon to extract the smooth puree.
  6. Pour the strained cranberry sauce into a lightly oiled jar or mold, cover, and refrigerate overnight or for a few hours.
  7. To serve, loosen the sauce from the jar by running a knife around the edges, then slice and enjoy.
