Whole recipe (6 servings): 900 kcal
- 1 1/2 cups red wine
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 star anise
- 6 whole cloves
- 3 whole cinnamon sticks
- 1 orange
Method
7 steps- Pour the red wine into a medium saucepan and add the brandy.
- Add the honey and stir with a wire whisk to dissolve.
- Add the star anise, cloves, and cinnamon sticks to the mixture.
- Add the whole orange to the saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce to medium-low and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Turn off the heat and remove from stove.
- Serve in glasses or mugs, garnished with an orange slice and a cinnamon stick if desired.
