Red Velvet Tartlet

Ingredients

  • 1 yolk egg
  • 300 ml milk
  • 30 g cornstarch
  • 100 g sugar
  • 150 g cream cheese
  • 5 g vanilla sugar
  • 120 ml cream (33-35%)
  • 100 g butter
  • 180 g flour
  • 50 g sugar
  • 10 g cocoa powder ((1 tbsp))
  • 1 whole egg
  • 10 g vanilla sugar
  • 1/3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp red food color
  • pinch salt
  • 60-80 g white chocolate

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. In a bowl, combine the egg yolk, milk, cornstarch, sugar, cream cheese, vanilla sugar, and cream.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the butter, flour, sugar, cocoa powder, whole egg, vanilla sugar, baking powder, red food color, and salt.
  4. Combine both mixtures and stir until well incorporated.
  5. Fill tartlet shells with the mixture and bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes.
  6. Once baked, top with white chocolate as desired.
