- 200 g green beans, trimmed
- 100 g bacon, sliced
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp bacon fat
Method
6 steps- Cook green beans quickly on the stovetop or microwave until tender but still crisp.
- Add bacon to a skillet and cook over medium heat until it begins to become crispy and releases fat, about 10 to 12 minutes.
- Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, reserving about 2 tablespoons of bacon fat in the skillet.
- Add sliced green onions to the skillet and sauté until they soften, a few minutes.
- Add the cooked green beans to the skillet with the bacon fat and green onions.
- Stir to combine, season with freshly ground black pepper and salt to taste, and sprinkle with crumbled bacon before serving.
