  • bean sprouts
  • vegetable oil
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • soy sauce to taste
  • toasted sesame oil a small dash
  • chives sliced for garnish

Method

9 steps
  1. Heat pan on high heat.
  2. Add vegetable oil when pan is hot.
  3. Add bean sprouts when oil shimmers.
  4. Season with salt and pepper and stir evenly.
  5. Cook until sprouts become slightly translucent, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Lower heat to medium-high and add soy sauce.
  7. Mix vigorously to avoid burning soy sauce.
  8. Turn off stove once coated.
  9. Add chives and a small dash of toasted sesame oil.

  • Drain the bean sprouts thoroughly.
  • Use high heat and cook briefly to preserve crunch.
  • Add soy sauce near the end to avoid scorching.
