Ingredients
- 639g (4½ cups) all-purpose flour
- 240ml (1 cup) warm milk
- 115g (½ cup) granulated sugar
- 85g (6 tbsp) melted butter
- 2 large eggs (room temp)
- 6g (2 tsp) instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 170g (1 cup) dark brown sugar (packed)
- 85g (6 tbsp) softened butter
- 2½ tsp ground cinnamon
- 115g (½ cup) cream cheese (softened)
- 57g (¼ cup) butter (softened)
- 170g (1½ cups) powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ⅛ tsp salt
Method
- Heat milk and butter until butter melts, then cool to warm.
- Whisk in eggs to the milk mixture.
- Mix flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
- Pour in milk mixture and stir until dough forms.
- Knead dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth and slightly tacky.
- Cover dough and let rise in a warm place for 70–90 minutes until doubled.
- Roll dough into a 24x12 inch rectangle.
- Spread softened butter over dough.
- Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly on dough.
- Roll dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 rolls.
- Place rolls in greased pan, cover, and let rise 45–60 minutes.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes until golden brown.
- Whip cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until fluffy.
- Spread frosting over warm rolls.
