Ingredients

7 ingredients
  • 330g (2 cups) ripe mango, peeled and chopped
  • 245g (1 cup) plain whole-milk yogurt
  • 120ml (1/2 cup) whole milk
  • 3 tbsp (38g) granulated sugar, or to taste
  • 1/8 tsp ground cardamom
  • Up to 3 cups crushed ice or ice cubes
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh mint, optional, for garnish

Method

8 steps
  1. Place the chopped mango, yogurt, milk and 2 tablespoons of the sugar in a blender.
  2. Blend until completely smooth.
  3. Taste the lassi and add some or all of the remaining tablespoon of sugar if needed.
  4. Add the ground cardamom and enough ice to achieve the desired cold, slushy consistency.
  5. Blend again until the ice is finely crushed and the lassi is smooth.
  6. If the mixture is too thick, blend in a small splash of cold water or milk.
  7. Divide the lassi among three glasses.
  8. Garnish with chopped mint, if desired, and serve immediately.

Recipe notes

Storage

Mango lassi is best served immediately. Refrigerate without ice in an airtight container for up to 24 hours and stir or blend again before serving.

Additional tips

  • Adjust the sugar according to the sweetness of the mango and yogurt. Add ice gradually so the drink does not become excessively diluted.
