  • 6 oz cream cheese, softened
  • French onion dip, about that much
  • 8 jalapenos
  • cheddar cheese, shredded
  • mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • bacon, cooked crisp and chopped
  • about 16 little smokies or similar sausage links
  • barbecue seasoning rub
  • 2 cans crescent roll dough

Method

10 steps
  1. Mix softened cream cheese with French onion dip until well incorporated; set aside.
  2. Cook bacon until crisp, chop into small pieces, and set aside.
  3. Cut little smokies or sausage links into smaller pieces.
  4. In a bowl, combine sausage pieces, barbecue seasoning rub, shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, and chopped bacon.
  5. Cut off the tops of jalapenos, remove seeds and stem, and stuff each jalapeno half with the sausage mixture, pressing down to fill.
  6. Wrap each stuffed jalapeno with crescent roll dough, overlapping the edges as needed.
  7. Preheat smoker or grill to about 275-300°F, using indirect heat.
  8. Place wrapped jalapenos on the smoker or grill, spaced apart, and cook for approximately 35 to 45 minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  9. Optionally, brush with butter and sprinkle Parmesan cheese before finishing.
  10. Let cool slightly before serving.
