Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 to 10 lasagna sheets (not oven ready)
- 1 diced shallot
- 2 tbsp seasoned salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- mozzarella and/or provolone cheese shredded or sliced
- parmesan cheese for garnish
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 to 2 diced shallots
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
- cream cheese (ricotta substitute)
- water or beef broth (fill 28 oz can halfway)
- 1 to 2 tbsp seasoned salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp italian seasoning
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
- fresh oregano (optional)
Method
- Heat olive oil in skillet and sauté diced shallots and minced garlic until fragrant.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Add crushed tomatoes, cream cheese, water or beef broth, seasoned salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, sugar, italian seasoning, crushed red pepper, and fresh oregano to skillet.
- Simmer sauce until slightly thickened.
- Add lasagna sheets to skillet, layering them with sauce and cheeses.
- Cover and cook on low heat until pasta is tender and cheese is melted.
- Garnish with parmesan cheese before serving.
