4 ingredients- 250 ml water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 300 g all-purpose flour
- Vegetable oil, as needed for frying
Method
10 steps- Bring the water to a boil and dissolve the salt in it.
- Place the flour in a heatproof mixing bowl. Carefully pour the boiling salted water over the flour and stir until combined.
- Leave the dough until cool enough to handle, then knead until smooth.
- Cover the dough and leave it to rest for 20 minutes.
- Lightly flour the work surface and flatten the rested dough.
- Divide the dough into 16 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.
- Roll or press each ball into a round approximately 10 cm wide.
- Heat a thin layer of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry each flatbread for 30 to 45 seconds on the first side, then turn and fry for another 30 to 45 seconds.
- Repeat with the remaining dough, adding more oil to the pan as needed. Serve warm.
