8 ingredients- 2 eggs
- 2 slices of ham
- 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp chopped onion
- 1 tbsp chopped green bell pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped and seeded tomato
- 2 chopped or sliced mushrooms
- 1 tbsp chunky salsa
Method
11 steps- Add two eggs into a large resealable freezer bag.
- Press out most of the air from the bag and seal.
- Shake or squeeze the bag to beat the eggs.
- Open the bag and add in your favorite omelet ingredients: ham, cheese, onion, bell pepper, tomato, mushrooms, and salsa.
- Squeeze out the air and seal the bag again.
- Gently turn the bag to incorporate the ingredients.
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
- Place the freezer bag in the boiling water.
- Cook for 13 minutes.
- Carefully open the bag and roll the omelet out onto a plate.
- If the omelet mixture is high in water content, cook for a few more minutes and drain excess liquid before serving.

Helpful tips
- Use only a freezer bag explicitly suitable for boiling or sous-vide-style cooking.
- Press out most of the air before sealing.
- Use lower-moisture fillings to avoid excess liquid.
- Cook longer if the centre remains loose.
