Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chickpeas (300g | 10.5oz)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water (60 ml)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • 3/4 cup cashews (100g | 3.5oz)
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup water (80 ml)

Method

  1. 1

    Combine cooked chickpeas, cornstarch, water, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and salt to form the chickpea stick mixture.

    Use a piping bag or a plastic bag with a cut-off corner to shape the mixture into sticks.

    Bake or cook the sticks until crispy on the outside and tender inside.

    Soak cashews in hot water for 20 minutes or overnight in cold water for a creamier sauce.

    Blend soaked cashews with nutritional yeast, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and water to make the sauce.
